Summer in Morgantown
Actually,
I am new student at West Virginia University in Morgantown. However, I am excited
when I came here. I have come to Morgantown for two weeks, so the first day I
have been here on May, 17. When I came here, I didn't know any one, and I lost
my phone so, I can’t contact with Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission to help me. So
I was talking with myself, what I can do in this new country, which names U.S.A
specifically in this new City, which names Morgantown. Then I spend around
three hours in front of the airport. After that, volunteering come to me, who
gave me aired to the West Virginia University. Then I went to the international
students, that are caring about new students, and they gave me some information
about the University and Morgantown. Finally, I found a student, who is from
Saudi Arabia. He picked me up to his house, and he helped me for everything in
Morgantown. In short, new country, new city, new culture, new friends, new
life, and new summer in Morgantown.Friday, May 31, 2013
Summer in Morgantown
Summer in Morgantown
On May, 20, that the first day for me at West Virginia University. In the morning, I was in the friend’s house, which is in the west run. Then I went to the WVU specifically at the IEP at 8:00 A.M. First of all, I took placement test for IEP. The test wasn’t so bad, but I had trouble with time test, so the test was 100 optional questions. The test was containing four sections listening, reading, vocabulary, and grammar section. However, the time test was 50 minutes for all sections. When the time is over, I couldn’t solve around 30 questions. Second, I didn’t know is there a specific time also the teachers didn’t tell us before the test began. When the quiz is almost over, they said ten minutes left for the test. And I have had 30 questions without solving. It was a sad day for me. As a result, my friend Hassan, who is from Saudi Arabia, told me about the system for IEP, that will move some students up if the students are doing well in class. In conclusion, May, 20 was a big day in Morgantown.
